UT Southwestern University Hospital - Zale Lipshy, at 5151 Harry Hines Blvd., has 144 staffed beds and is home to one of the world's premier neurological treatment centers. UT Southwestern physicians rely on the facility's neuroangiography unit as a vitally important factor in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disease.

Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program

UT Southwestern's Bone Marrow Transplant Program treats patients in facilities that include a dedicated 13-bed, HEPA-filtered unit. Patients are cared for by experienced hematologists and oncologists as well as ancillary personnel who ensure optimal management of all aspects of patient care.

UT Southwestern physicians specialize in diagnosing and treating patients with hematologic malignancies that include leukemia, Hodgkin's disease, non-Hodgkin's disease, multiple myeloma and myelodysplasia.

Psychiatric Services

Inpatient services are available in the hospital's 21-bed psychiatric unit for adults age 18 and over who experience acute or severe psychiatric symptoms. Senior adults with emotional and behavioral problems also are served in an accessible, controlled and safe environment. Eleven private and five semi-private rooms are available.

Treatment programs include a coordinated approach of cognitive behavioral therapy and psychopharmacological interventions.

  • 12 spacious surgical suites equipped for state-of-the-art specialty surgery as well as more common surgical procedures.

  • A 42-bed rehabilitation unit that includes a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach in rehabilitating patients with functional impairments due to acute illness or injury.

  • A 20-bed intensive care unit offering advanced equipment and a very low nurse to patient ratio.
