Your Visit or Stay
Each hospital has a cafeteria, food court or convenience store serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. In addition, outpatients and their guests are welcome to visit Southwestern Dining Plaza on UT Southwestern Medical Center’s South Campus, the North Campus Commons Food Court and 14th Floor cafeteria, the Outpatient Building café, and Professional Office Building 2 on the west campus.
North Campus Commons
The T. Boone Pickens Biomedical Building is home to the North Campus Commons Food Court and 14th Floor cafeteria. Hot breakfast, pre-made salads and sandwiches, as well as a daily soup, pizza and hot entree, are available at the Commons Food Court. The 14th Floor offers breakfast and lunch, including salads, a grill and a daily selection of panini sandwiches, soups, quesadillas, and blue-plate specials.
- Commons Food Court: Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- 14th Floor: Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Outpatient Building
Located on UT Southwestern’s West Campus, the Outpatient Building's ground-floor lobby café offers coffee, soda, bottled water, sandwiches and assorted snack items.
- Monday – Friday: 5:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Southwestern Dining Plaza
Located in McDermott Plaza on UT Southwestern’s South Campus, Southwestern Dining Plaza is a food court with a variety of choices, including Subway, Starbucks, Taco Bell, Burger House, pizza and a salad and hot entrée bar. Most stations are open for breakfast and lunch.
- Starbucks: Monday – Friday: 6:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Subway: Monday – Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- All other stations: Monday – Friday: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
UT Southwestern University Hospital
Visitors may dine in the cafeteria, located on the first floor of the hospital.
- Monday – Friday: breakfast: 6:30 – 10 a.m., lunch 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., dinner 4 – 6:30 p.m.
- Weekends and holidays: breakfast 7 – 10 a.m., lunch 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., dinner closed.
The cafeteria also has extended hours for items such as express salads, sandwiches, pizza and light pick-up food. The "Express Break" hours are Monday - Friday: 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Vending machines are located on the first floor of the hospital near the Blue Elevators.
UT Southwestern University Hospital - Zale Lipshy
Guests may enjoy hot foods, sandwiches or salads at the 5151 Café (cafeteria style) and 5151 C-Store (snack shop), located on the first floor behind the front desk. Hours of operation are:
- 5151 Café: Monday – Friday: breakfast 6:30 – 9 a.m., lunch 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Closed for dinner and weekends.
- 5151 C-Store: Monday – Friday: 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday: 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Vending machines are located on the third floor of the hospital.
Professional Office Building 2
Located in the atrium on the ground floor, Alonti Cafe offers hot and cold sandwiches, a soup and salad bar, daily hot lunch specials and a variety of snack foods and beverages. Open Monday - Friday only. Breakfast hours are 6:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.; lunch is from 10:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
